There’s a sense of excitement in the air between Farringdon and Old Street: Clerkenwell Design Week (24 to 26 May) returns as London’s first big design industry happening of the year – and post-pandemic. As always, the festival and participating brands have put together an inspiring events and talks program. Many of our partner brands will be hosting insightful design conversations or parties – sometimes even both. Check out the highlights from the schedule below – we can’t wait to see you out and about. Orangebox

Under the umbrella of the theme Unboxed, British office furniture brand Orangebox will host three talks that will be return every day of the festival.
Talk: In Conversation with Perkins & Will and NoChintz
In this panel discussion, Orangebox’s Research & Insight Manager will host the creative team from both Perkins & Will and NoChintz to discuss the design direction and vision of their Unboxed 2022 project. The discussion will celebrate the creativity and innovation needed to overcome the challenges when designing workplaces for the future.

Talk: Relationship Buildings - Where the office is no longer the health problem but the wellness solution
Orangebox’s Research & Insight team have published a guide to navigating, interpreting and re-imagining the changing landscape of the workplace. A workplace that has changed more dramatically than it has ever done in our careers to date. Jim Taylour, Head of Design & Wellbeing, will outline why fitness-centred design is more important than ever and why making our workplaces socially, mentally and physically fit for purpose can accelerate personal and organisational wellness objectives.

Talk: Carbon Focused Circularity - Putting Theory Into Practice
In this 45-minute presentation, principal designer Luke Palmer outlines what a furniture manufacturer can implement in design terms to alleviate the pressure on both our technical and natural resources. Carbon focussed product development will play a key role in redressing our planet's C02 balance. However, material selection is only a small piece of the puzzle, how we engineer office furniture for ‘in-life serviceability’ & ‘lifecycle extension’ is critical for carbon mitigation. The AllowMe design story will help unpack these challenges for the audience.

The Italian brand’s London showroom will host a talk, by invitation only, featuring Swiss Argentinian designer Alfredo Häberli who, in conversation with Daniel Gava, Board Advisor to the Design Industry, will discuss the origins and inspirations behind the Taba seating collection.

Andreu World: Book launch ‘Conversations about work’ with Alfredo Häberli
Andreu World celebrates the publication of the book Conversations About Work. It features the work of eight international designers, highlighting their professional experience and individual creative processes. To mark the launch, the Spanish brand will host a conversation with Alfredo Häberli and the editor-in-chief of OnOffice Magazine, Jessica-Christin Hametner.
