Meet Mustafa Afşaroğlu

What is your studio about?
Taner’s Sons draws together architecture, interior design and strategy expertise to create extraordinary buildings, spaces, and experiences. We work across all sectors including workplace, hospitality and residential, therefore offering our clients a holistic design approach. In a time when many in the industry specify on special niches, we chose to go the opposite way, understanding how people use and experience any built environment.
Tell us a little about yourself!
I am the co-founder of Taner’s Sons Design Studio which I’ve started with my brother Erhan. Both of us had been working for over 10 years in the industry at practices like Foster+Partners with clients like Google, Facebook and Amazon.
What or who inspires you at the moment?
I find this question hard to answer. It really depends, I am inspired by art, architecture and travel. But I can tell you a really cool artist I discovered recently who builds extra-ordinary sculptures from lego bricks: Ekow Nimako
Please describe your interior style in five words.
Sculptural, poetic, experimental, organic, fun.
What projects are you working on right now?
We are finishing a really cool bar project and a restaurant project in London. And various office projects in Switzerland. One of the most exciting ones is a masterplan project for a university that consists of 42 buildings – we are looking after the workplace strategy and design concept for 6000 people.
