Learn how to get the most out of the Clippings platform, from inspiration to installation.
Learn how to create a specification from your shortlisted products, request a quote and make changes when you need to.
On Clippings, getting a quote for your selection of products happens in 3 stages:
1. The specification, or draft quote, in which you shortlist your products and set quantities and product references. Specifications will show you estimated pricing for your current selection.
2. Requested quotes are specifications sent off to the Clippings team. Once your quote is requested we will start working on getting the best deals for you and finalising pricing.
3. The quote is the document you get back from us with finalised pricing. We’ll give you a quote instantly if your request only includes products from our catalogue. All our quotes are valid for 60 days.
All specifications, requested and received quotes are saved in the Quotes tab of your project, and you can make changes to them at any time.
💡 Top tip: You can request and receive as many quotes for a project as you like, e.g if you want get an idea of the costing for various product constellations for a specific room.
When you’re ready to create a specification, select the products on your board using the tick box. In grid view, these boxes are at the top left of each product image. In the list view, they come first in each row.
💡 Top tip: To add all items, use the Select all box at the top of your board. To add all the products in a space to a specification, simply tick the box of that space.
Once you’ve made your selection, click on Add to specification in the bottom toolbar, and you will be taken directly to your newly created specification.
If you have multiple specifications in your project, you can select which one you want to add products to when adding items from your board. Find a list of any specifications in the project in the Quotes section.
Working with lots of specifications? Rename them to something memorable using the Rename button.
You can easily change quantities for products in your specification and see the estimated totals change instantly.
💡 Top tip: To add more than 10 items, select 10+ from the quantity dropdown, then type in the required quantity.
Use the Room and Reference fields to match your floor plan. Any references added in the board will be carried over to the specification.
💡 Same product, different room? Click on ••• in the product row and select Duplicate. Change the room reference for the second item, and you're good to go!
Prices shown in your specification are estimated based on the trade discount shown in the Clippings catalogue. If you're working on a large project, we may be able to offer you a higher discount.
If you have added items from outside of the Clippings catalogue, the estimates will use RRP where available.
Before requesting a quote, you will be asked to add a delivery address so the cost of delivery can be calculated right away. The cost will be included in your total.
Standard delivery will be selected by default, which includes a courier service to your door. Should you want us to install the delivered goods for you, you can upgrade to Delivery and installation by clicking on Change next to Standard delivery in the totals table.
Once your specification is ready, click Request a quote to get final pricing.
If your specification only includes products from the Clippings catalogue, you’ll receive an instant quote from us. Otherwise, our team will be in touch within 48 hours.
To edit a Requested or Ready quote, open the quote and click Make changes. A copy of the previous version will automatically be archived, so you can recover it later if you need to.
Once you’re done making changes to this new version of the quote, request it again so our team knows it’s ready to be looked at.
You have the option to export your specification as a spreadsheet, simply click on ••• in the bottom toolbar and select Export as spreadsheet.
You can also download a copy of your quote as a PDF for your own records. You can access this in the same ••• menu.
If you have a lot of old quotes or specifications that you'd like to clean up, you can archive them by clicking on ••• next to the Request a quote button and selecting Archive. The quote will then be moved to the Closed section in the Quotes tab.
💡 Changed your mind? Changed your mind? You can restore an archived quote by clicking Restore at the top of the archived quote.
