A new chapter

There was zero chance that the first home of The Wing outside of the US would underwhelm. The eight existing locations share a cosy-cool aesthetic defined by daylight-filled spaces, curved lines and warm pastel shades. All of these elements made it into The Wing’s London venue, an Edwardian townhouse just a few steps away from Oxford Circus.

The library features the Oslo chairs from Portuguese brand Missana and fringed table lights from British designer Abigail Ahern. The accessories on the book shelves were also sourced through Clippings.

Laetitia Gorra, interior director at The Wing, lifted the brand DNA across the Atlantic and enhanced it with local references.  “We wanted to make sure that members get that same ‘amazing’ moment,” says Laetitia. “I see London as an international hub and wanted to incorporate design inspiration from various European cities and countries, so I brought that into each floor.”

Working with Clippings

Our procurement team helped The Wing designers to find the product to bring the vision for the space to life. Clippings suggested products in line with the aesthetic and managed all price negotiations and communications with the vast number of suppliers, which also included vintage furniture sellers and high-street retailers.

Once Laetitia and her team were happy the specification, Clippings placed all orders on behalf of the client and managed all logistics. The team also managed the production of COM seating, ensuring that the correct fabrics arrived at the furniture factories across Europe.

All orders arrived at our warehouse, where we consolidated all deliveries. Our logistics team collected the parcels and pallets, and sent them out to the site in central London when the building was ready. Our project managers oversaw the installation process in person.

This lounge area features coffee tables by Dutch label Fest and vintage wall lights, all sourced with Clippings.
“Given that we were in different time zones, having Clippings  on the ground dealing with the logistics was incredibly helpful. It allowed me to be at ease with knowing that everything was going to arrive on time. And it did."
Laetitia Gorra, Interior Director The Wing
The tea room has Alice in Wonderland vibes and features the Lagarto lounge chairs by Isimar, white dining chairs by Italian brand Emu and a round table from French brand Tribù. All sourced with Clippings.
Furniture sourced by Clippings on the rooftop terrace includes the Paradiso dining chairs from Spanish brand Isimar, the  portable FollowMe table lights from Marset and lounge chairs from Spanish outdoor furniture specialist Kettal.
The green Lagarto lounge chairs and the Arena side tables are from Isimar; the sofa is from Kettal. All procured through Clippings.
