An ambitious build-to-rent development for a new generation of tenants

The apartments only include high-quality products from leading manufactures including dining chairs from Gaber and a dining table by Carsarsa, two Italian manufacturers.

The area around Wembley Park in North West London is seeing a massive transformation with multiple developments re-energising the neighbourhood and attracting a new generation of renters. Build-to-rent developer Vonder Europe spotted the opportunity and took over a residential tower, offering tenants hassle-free, all-inclusive renting in modern, vibrant interiors.

The beds were sourced from Italian manufacturer Bolzan Letti. The side tables are from Dutch brand Fest and the table lights are from Anglepoise.

Vonder Europe chose Clippings as the sole procurement partner to source all FF&E and OS&E for the flats, community areas, co-working spaces and in-house cinema. With a fast project turn-around essential, they needed a business who would be reliable at every step of the procurement process. From finding suitable products to overseeing the installation and snagging process on location, the Clippings team stepped up to the challenge.

From concept to reality

Overlooking the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium, the member lounge features sofas from &Tradition, coffee tables from Hay and lounge chairs in sky blue from Moroso.

'Wembley feels very multicultural, young, and upcoming and has many vibrant corners. We wanted to mirror that atmosphere with the interior concept. It needed to feel dynamic, so we went for a fun and colourful approach', says head of design Marzio Scottoni from Vonder Europe, who oversaw the project. Following the creative brief – and with the set budget in mind – Sebiha from our project team put together furniture and lighting options for all the apartments.

Vonder Wembley includes a large, bright co-working area, with task chairs from British workplace brand Connection.

Looking at FF&E options for the community areas, where they envisioned bolder design pieces, Marzio sped up his research using the Clippings platform. 'The platform is such a useful tool to create a mood for space, and you can see what fits and what doesn't. You can see everything online – on a platform that is clear, including a good catalogue with fast and quick feedback. If you’re working on a large number of projects with a tight deadline, and you need inspiration for your research, Clippings is just super helpful. And then you have real people on hand who you can ask for alternatives or samples – it is great.'

Clippings also handled the sourcing of OS&E products, for example, kitchen utensils. ‘With no in-house procurement team, it felt like Clippings was an extension of our team.'

'The industry needed a company like Clippings'

In the cinema, Vonder Europe chose comfortable lounge chairs from Normann Copenhagen in lively orange and small side tables from Hem.

One reliable partner throughout

Clippings supplied Vonder Europe with decorative items such as rugs and throws from Ferm Living and artwork from Paper Collective.

Clippings assigned selected team members for Vonder, so Marzio and his colleagues always dealt with someone they knew. 'When you can speak with one person for everything from furniture to blinds, things get a lot easier. This service helped us the most on this project as there were just very few people working on it for Vonder.'

Delivery and installation of a complex scheme

The light-filled flats – the portfolio ranges from studios to 3-bedroom apartments – come in different colour schemes.

Clippings also handled the inbound shipments of 6000 products from all suppliers, storing all deliveries in the Clippings warehouse just outside of London. Once the building was ready, our logistics team, supported by an experienced delivery partner, arranged a phased delivery in line with the client's installation schedule. On location, Clippings project manager Inga oversaw the installation and snagging process.

The Clippings difference

'I enjoyed working with everyone at Clippings, including the installation crew. It's a fantastic company with great online tools that makes selecting and procuring furniture, actually anything FF&E or OS&E related, easy. It’s something the industry absolutely needed,’ says Marzio. 'Similar companies just aren’t as tech-driven. Traditional procurement companies for projects like Vonder Wembley propose products without providing any details – they don’t even tell you who is producing the furniture. Partnering with Clippings allowed me to really get involved in the actual product selection on a granular level that wasn’t too complicated or time-consuming, which otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.'

The Vonder Wembley building is located in the buzzing Wembley Park area, one of Europe's biggest redevelopment projects.
